Another grim day weather wise so we stop off at McDonald’s to cheer ourselves up with breakfast. We stretch our legs in the pretty village of Downham and then park in Settle for a look around. The River Ribble is gushing due to the heavy rain and we are starting to resemble drowned rats so we look for a tearoom to dry off a bit with toasted teacakes. As our journey continues north we reach the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and settle down for the rest of the day in a fairly sheltered spot.
