Vijaya Krishna Naresh, born on 20 January 1964, known mononymously as Naresh, is an actor, politician and social activist known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema and television. Naresh is son of actress Vijaya Nirmala and her first husband, K. S. Murthy. He mentioned in a TV interview that his father died when he was young and that he doesn't remember much about him. Naresh made his debut as a child actor in the film Pandanti Kapuram in 1972, in which his mother Vijaya Nirmala was the female lead. He also acted in Kavitha, and Santosh Sowbhagyam. He later made his debut as a lead actor, at the age of 17, with the box office hit Nalugu Stambalata that released in 1982, directed by Sri Jandhyala and produced by Navata Krishnam Raju. He then acted in Prema Sankellu, Pinni directed by his mother Vijaya Nirmala. His other notable works include Rendu Jella Sita, Sreevariki Prema Lekha, which were also directed by comedy brahma, Jandhyala. He then acted mostly in comedy oriented hero roles like Sri Kanaka Mahalaxmi Recording Dance Troupe, Bava Bava Panneeru, Manasu Mamatha. In movies like Vichitram and Jamba Lakidi Pamba, he portrayed both male and female roles evoking laughter in the audience. He then acted in Gunasekhar's Sogasu Chuda Tarama? After a small hiatus, he started his second innings as a supporting actor and in father roles with Allari Ramudu in 2002, and then went on to appear in many memorable films such as: Dhanalakshmi, I Love You, Malliswari as enkatesh's brother, Oka Oorilo, Mee Sreyobhilashi, Andari Bandhuvaya, 100% Love, Chandamama Kathalu, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Guntur Talkies, Sathamanam Bhavati, Rangasthalam,Sammohanam, Maestro and in the Drushyam series.
