Can HYDERABAD Replace BENGALURU as India’s Startup Capital?

In this debate, we discuss if Hyderabad is replacing Bengaluru to become India's Startup Capital. 00:00 - Intro 00:26 - Hyderabad's Startup Growth 02:36 - Where Bengaluru stands today? 11:11 - State Government's Support for Hyderabad 15:32 - What makes a Startup Ecosystem? 16:22 - Challeneges for Bengaluru 28:55 - Future Predictions Hyderabad's startup scene has made significant progress in recent years. In 2014, when the state of Telangana was formed, Hyderabad lagged behind Bengaluru, India's primary tech hub. However, the city has experienced rapid growth since then. According to startup rankings on StartupBlink, Hyderabad has climbed eight positions in the last year, now ranking as the 89th-best startup city globally. While this is still below Bengaluru's impressive eighth position, Hyderabad is the fifth-best startup city in India, trailing Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The city's growing reputation and social media buzz have attracted attention, prompting interest from entrepreneurs and potential investors. Furthermore, one major factor here is the Telangana government's support, which has become a major driving force for the startup ecosystem. The government has established T-Hub, a state-of-the-art innovation center functioning as a business incubator for startups. T-Hub has positively impacted over 2000 startups and facilitated fundraising of 1860 crore rupees. The Telangana government has launched various initiatives under the T brand, such as T-Fund, T-Seed, T-Bridge, TSIK, T-Tribe, and T-Works. These initiatives encompass startup funding, international scaling opportunities, innovation cells, college incubation programs, and India's largest prototyping center. These efforts have greatly boosted Hyderabad's startup ecosystem and played a significant role in the state's tech business development.
