Here are some fun facts about goats: They tend to live about as long as dogs do. Kids (baby goats) can stand almost as soon as they are born. The mother ("nanny goat" or "doe") recognizes her kid by scent and not by sight. Goats have four stomachs. Goats are herd animals and will suffer if left alone. They are naturally curious and are able to climb and balance in precarious places. They often climb trees and some live in mountains, able to navigate very steep rocks. In their natural habitat, they reach high places to forage rather than graze on grass.
