You Raise Me Up

Celebrating Mother's Day with this tune "You Raise Me Up" was an inspired choice for this #SlowAirSunday. The definition of Being a Mother is a selfless, loving human who sacrifices their own needs for someone else. To all the women of this world who do this.... YOU are a Mother. You don't have to carry or raise a child to me called Mother. Not all of us have that ability.... but when you give selflessly and love someone more than yourself, THAT is the Definition of Mother. There are a Million ways of showing Love for the person we call Mother. This Sunday marks the 8th Mother's Day without my Mother. Even though I miss her everyday I am blessed to have other wonderful women in my life, that have been and continue to be, a Mother to me. A special Thank you to Madelyn Blandford, Diane Weber (Force), Cathy Byrnes and Shawn Galleren for all the love, friendship and support you have given me. Life is sweeter with you in it! Thank you for being mine. "You Raise Me Up" is a song originally composed by the Norwegian-Irish Duo called "The Secret Garden". The music was written by Rolf Lovland and the Lyrics by Brendan Graham. This song was performed in early 2002 by the "secret Garden" and their invited lead singer Brian Kennedy. This song was also recorded by Josh Groban in 2003. This song was originally composed as an instrumental piece and titled "Silent Story". Lovland later approached the Irish Novelist and song writer Brendan Graham to write the lyrics to his melody. The song was made by Lovland himself for his Mother's funeral. Original Lyrics: When I am down, and, oh, my soul, so weary When troubles come, and my heart burdened be Then, I am still and wait here in the silence Until you come and sit awhile with me You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up to more than I can be Performed by Dark Isle Piper Arrangment by Dark Isle Piper Filmed in California www.darkislepiper.com
