So recently I took a 3 days road trip to a beautiful hill station in South India - Kodaikanal, also known as princess of hill stations. This is part 1 of Kodaikanal travel series where we explored Vattakanal - An underrated hill station near Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, India. Better known as Vatta among backpackers, Vattakanal is a small village ahead of Kodaikanal, a serene and underrated hill station in Tamil Nadu. It is also well known as the 'Little Israel of India' because of its heavy Israeli tourist population. Both tourists and slow travellers can experience this peace-loving town in their own ways. There are various tourist attraction spots within reach from Vattakanal. Dolphin’s Nose, Vattakanal falls, Liril Falls and Pine Tree Forest being the top visited places by tourists. For a slow, chilled out experience, Altaf's cafe is great. You can have some authentic Italian, Mediterranean and Chinese foods with some amazing ginger lemon tea, and a beautiful view of the mountains.
