What are ND filters?

Today we talk about ND filters. ND (neutral density) filters act as a tint for your camera lens. This allows us to tell our camera that it is actually darker then it really is. When shooting outside with the sun, this gives us extra control. Sometimes the sun is so bright that we have to close our aperture. This limited our shallow depth of field. Often we are trying to have a nice blur to the background. With an ND filter we can open our aperture much wider and manipulate the blur to be just as we like. See you next time!
