The sixth and final single released from the massive Top Gun soundtrack album, this is the single version taken from the US 7" single. Written by Harold Faltermeyer, the single failed to chart, however, it did win a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. A highly worthy achievement, especially Steve Stevens' guitar work. And the video was in heavy rotation on MTV. The instrumental has achieved what few instrumentals do: being instantly recognizable from it's accompanying movie, ala Axel F. Theme (also by Faltermeyer). I would say this single ranks up there with Theme From "Rocky" for it's fist-pumping inducement! Enjoy!
