Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are a National Trust property located on the outskirts of Ripon, North Yorkshire. The site contains three attractions: Studley Royal Deer Park (free to enter) - parkland home to over 300 deer. Studley Royal Water Garden - Georgian water garden Fountains Abbey - Ruins of Cistercian monastery The site was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1986 as they consider the landscape to be a feat of “human creative genius” which is one of the ten criteria for being recognised.
