The tomb was built in Vijayapura (formerly Bijapur), Karnataka, India, beginning in 1626 and finishing in 1656. The name is derived from Gola gummata, which comes from Gol Gombadh, which means "circle dome." 1. It adopts a Deccan architectural aesthetic. A cube measuring 47.5 meters (156 feet) on each side and a roof of 44 meters (144 feet) outside make up the building.
