Peugeot 208 -2012 Fluctuating Idle between 800 and 1000 RPM. Repaired by cleaning the throttle head.

My Car was fluctuating between 800 and 1000, which started after I forgot to close the engine oil lead and half the engine oil poured all over the engine. I took it to mechanic I was told that its a misfiring and that my engine is about to be totalled, I was informed the cost to repair is about £1000. I tried using Premium Oil and other injector cleaners used by adding it to fuel but yet no success although I must admit I think after about 150miles it was showing a tiny difference but it is still annoying fluctuating. I then bought Throttle cleaner and decided to clean the throttle and it worked. Fluctuating idle stopped immediately and the car sounds like new.
