Cockapoo Puppy First Haircut Will He Behave for Home Grooming?

Here is the first full groom (table training) for a puppy and we will see if the preliminary training experiences I have given this puppy will pay off for this first real full haircut. This haircut is more than just doing a bit of perfection trimming for the puppy. He was hand scissored over his whole body from tail tip to toes to help him learn to patiently tolerate a long grooming session. I still gave him plenty of room to squirm a bit and object a bit and let him fall asleep and be comfy and relaxed for the trim so that when his first real professional groomer gets him for an appointment he will not feel stressed out or scared and will behave like a dream and make some great friends in the grooming salon! Doodles and cockapoos and other non-shed dogs must be groomed at least every 4-9 weeks for their entire lives. That is a lot of time in the dog salon. You want your dog to really enjoy going and to behave very nicely so that you can get the very best haircut, have groomers that are excited to work with your dog, and all around have an excellent experience. I'd rather see puppies for first ever table training to tolerate and feel positive about grooming then to spend weeks trying to train a dog that has become aggressive towards groomers and is absolutely terrified and stressed out anytime he goes near a grooming bathtub, clippers or scissors. This little guy, Biscuit, did a great job! I hope that when I hear from his owners and his first ever professional groomer, that the feedback will be fantastic, as it has been for me developing this training program thus far.
