Happy Hobby Days and Keep 'em Running! See you soon! ---------------------- As I will be covering the steps of the Tamiya Grasshopper II 2017 more thorougly, including comparisons with the Grasshopper, Hornet and Super Hornet, this Tamiya Hornet Build will mostly be covered with fast-forwarded (time lapse) footage. This time we will be finishing Step 11-25 of the assembly kit manual, accompanied by Mr. Wagner. All we need now is a Hornet Body. I have had this Tamiya Hornet finished for a couple of months now, but thought the build footage could wait a little and make up a good addition to my current Tamiya Grasshopper II build. If you're wondering what the "Black Metallic Edition" refers to, it is the inclusion of black wheels (as seen in this video) and a pre-cut and pre-plated polycarbonate body (coming up in the final build video soon). You can find Part 1 (Step 1-10) of the Tamiya Hornet Build here: • BUiLDiNG the Tamiya Hornet Ltd. Black... This limited edition celebrated both The Hornet's 30th Anniversary and the Tamiya R/C Models 40th Anniversary. Be sure to subscribe to hop along! In my channel you will find many more Tamiya Hoppers and models, unboxed, being built, displayed, working, running and breaking. ---------------------- TAMIYA HORNET BLACK METALLIC EDITION SPECIFICATIONS: Brand: Tamiya Model: The Hornet 2004/2014 Ltd. Black Metallic Edition #84383 Originally released in: 1984 (#58045) Originally re-released in: 2004 (#58336) Type: Buggy Assembly Kit 2WD / RWD Chassis: ABS Resin Bathtub Type 2004 Body: Polycarbonate (factory pre-cut/metal-plated) Scale: 1/10 Length: 400 mm Width: 230 mm Height: 150 mm Chassis weight: 874 g. Gears: Sealed Gear Box with Differential Suspension: Swing Axle (Front) / Rigid Rolling Axle (Rear) Shocks/dampers: Friction/springs (Front) Oil Filled (Rear) Electric motor: Mabuchi RS-540SH Brushed 27T ESC incuded: Tamiya TBLE-02S Except for the replacement of the included bushings with metal ball bearings, it is bone-stock. However, in this build I chose to substitute the included ESC with a non-brushless compatible ESC, to loose the xtra wire unused with brushed motors, making everything a bit more tidy. The optional parts in the video are as follows: Tamiya TEU-105BK ESC Tamiya TRU-01 Receiver Tamiya TSU-01 Servo Pretty close to the Tamiya electronic standards of 2004, making it a full blooded Tamiya Hornet 2004. If it ever requires anything more after the initial first runs, brushless motor or 2.4 GHz radio, it is an easy replacement. ----------------------------------------------- Nordic RC Visions Statement: This video features homemade footage of my own radio-controlled unit, the Tamiya Hornet 2004 Limited Black Metallic Edition 2014 (Tamiya model 84383), from my personal RC model collection.
