The small west Oxfordshire town was acknowledged as a great place to live for its beautiful surroundings. The small historic Market Town of Charlbury is situated in the Evenload valley well away from busy main roads. Charlbury is located 15 miles north west of Oxford, surrounded by glorious Cotswold countryside and the historic towns of Woodstock, Burford and Chipping Norton. The town is full of 17th and 18th-century cottages built of Cotswold stone, giving the buildings a warm, golden look. Alot of Charlbury's prosperity is down to its rich heritage as a centre for glove-making during the 17th and 18th centuries. Charlbury station offers trains to Oxford and London Paddington. Witney and Chipping Norton can be reached by car in 20 minutes. Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm shop, is only a 10 minute drive away.
