A short video as I'm about and about on my bike taking some drone footage of Newcastle and the surrounding architecture. Byker Wall Byker Wall is the name given to a long unbroken block of 620 maisonettes in the Byker district of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is a part of the Byker Estate which was built between 1969 and 1982 by the late architect Ralph Erskine assisted by Vernon Gracie. It covers an area of approximately 200 acres and is home to around 9,500 people Ouseburn Once an industrial hub, Ouseburn is now a hip residential area clustered around the Ouseburn River which flows into the Tyne River. Featuring the Cluny Warehouse a successful bar and music venue and Seven Stories, the national children's book museum. Newcastle / Gateshead Quayside The Quayside is a lively stretch along the River Tyne, home to the landmark Gateshead Millennium Bridge which is shown in the open position to allow ships to pass underneath, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts, Sage music hall and of course the iconic Tyne Bridge.
