Twickenham Ferry- Pat Shaw- musique Theo Marzials

With this dance, I would like to celebrate the choreographers who, throughout the world, bring new life to this already long-lived repertoire of English Figure Dances. These new compositions reveal a deep knowledge of the repertoire and amazing craftmanship and imagination. My first choice goes towards one of the first of these brilliant minds : Patrick Shuldham Shaw (1917-1977) who was a revered caller, teacher, researcher, musician and dancer of course. Although he usually composed the music of his dances, and they are usually very good, he borrowed this particular one to Theo Marzials. Exceptionnellement, il n'a pas composé la musique de ce beau quadrille valsé auquel j'ai apporté ma touche personnelle en deux endroits.
