Pontiac Tempest in for a custom audio system. We were tasked with removing the previously installed audio system and bring some modern technology and sound quality into this classic vehicle. Alpine ILX-F509 receiver in a custom fabricated dash kit starts off this system, giving us a modern display and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Custom dash pods were fabricated to house a pair of Morel MT120n tweeters and MM2 midranges. Door mounted Morel Nano Carbon MW6 replaced the previously coaxial speakers and handles the mid bass. A pair of Morel CCWR254 wideband speakers handle the center channel, and provide a symmetrical listening experience in both front seats. An additional pair of CCWR254 add rear surround, as well as a pair of Maximo Ultra speakers for the rear passengers. The Alpine R2 10” subwoofer takes care of all the low frequency reproduction. Lastly, a trio of Helix M Series Amplifiers handle the amplification, and the Helix Pro MKIII DSP handles the sound processing. This was a very special project for us, as this car has been with this family since new. The goal for this project was to bring a high level of sound quality to be enjoyed in both front seats. The clients sister was battling cancer at the time, and once completed, the client was able to enjoy driving the car once again, listening to their favorite tracks in the families favorite car.
