This is a rare tonewood ideal to be used either for back and side of flamenco guitars or top soundboard of Persian instruments such as Setar or even Arabic oud: fine grain mulberry wood ! Usually fine grain #tonewood s supposed by #luthier to be better, i.e. annual rings be close to each other, but such a tight annual rings lead to slower growth. In the other hand light density soundboards supposed to radiate more sound volume. It was the lightest density mulberry wood I ever measured, 0.45gr per cubic centimeter equal to 450 Kg per cubic meter, a density close to light weight spruces. Dendrochronology is science of tree's annual rings, to investigation climate of past times and during centuries, and even geology of those eras.
