There is a Railway station in Rameswaram But Due to the construction work on Pamban bridge, the train is going only till Mandapam nowadays. The nearest Railway station is Mandapam at a distance of 21.6 km from Rameswaram. The nearest airport to Rameshwaram is Madurai Airport, which is around 149 kms from the city. Tuticorin Airport is also located at an distance of 142 kms that happens to be a medium of reaching Rameswaram by air. Bus services are also good from Rameswaram. Catch The Train- We caught our train which is only one train from Tirupati to Rameswaram which runs on Monday, Friday and Saturday. Train no. is 16779. Hotel- We Checked- in at Daiwik Hotels Rameswaram, which we had already booked. Comfortable stay. Searched for pandit- We talked to our driver Ajith and told him that we want to have a good darshan of the temple, so he gave us the contact details of a pandit. If anyone wants to have a good darshan and worship of the entire temple o, then I would suggest that you definitely book a Pandit. I am sharing contact details of pandit , who showed us very well. Pandit's Name- Mani Prabhu Pandit's Contact No.- +918682860863 Agni teertham- Agni Tirtham is one of the Tirthas of Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. It was here that Lord Rama took mother Sita's fire test. The beach east of Ramanathaswamy Temple is known by this name. This Tirtham is one of the most visited Tirthams of Rameswaram for a holy bath. Bath at 22 Wells-Very serene atmosphere. The best part was the bath from 22 wells. Officially you have to just pay Rs.25/- for a person and walk to the 22 different wells inside the temple. There are staff who will pour the water on you. Unofficially there are people who charge from 150 to 250 per head, they come along with you to all the wells and ensure that you get a bucket from each well. It's believed that all your sins are washed away and health regained after the bathing from all these wells.
