There have been two common complaints I keep revisiting with Project Civic Si - the shocks, which are blown, and the brakes, which just suck. Today I'm going to, hopefully, fix that. In this episode of Project Civic Si, I cover the OEM TSX brake upgrade available for the 8th gen Civic. The first gen TSX, 2004-2009, has slightly larger front brakes than the 8th gen Civic. The calipers are bigger, and the rotors are thicker. Those same TSX brakes also are a literal plug-and-play upgrade, as they bolt right up to the front knuckle on an 8th gen Civic. The only modification required is to clearance the rotor dust shield, to make room for the larger calipers. It's a pretty cheap upgrade, too, with parts costing no more than comparable new Civic Si braking components. So, it seems like a no-brainer, right?
