"Il Poverello" is the "Poor Man", Saint Francis of Assisi who lived 1181/1182 to 3 October 1226. Saint Francis loved Jesus in the poorest, the outcast, the lepers, the elderly, sick and dying. He saw God in every part of creation in nature and praised the Creator for the beauty he saw everywhere from the birds and the sun in the sky, to every creature and animal on earth. He influenced and inspired many people in his lifetime, friends who followed him, such as Saint Clare who loved Francis very much and began an Order of nuns called the "Poor Ladies" who followed her, and the footsteps of St Francis who taught everyone to follow and imitate the Poor Christ, and see God's presence in everyone they meet, from animals to the poorest of the poor. This video is a simple collection of images of St Francis in his lifetime, to show his love for God in everyone, especially those most in need that he encountered....Agnus Dei is the music I chose because it embodied Francis' love for Jesus, the meek and humble Lamb, who takes away the sins of the world, as a simple prayer for all who suffer in our world today, animals and humans alike.
