India's Achieves Almost 10% Ethanol Blending In Petrol | ET Now | Latest News

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas-Hardeep Singh Puri said that 9.99% ethanol blending in petrol has been achieved by OMCs, much ahead of the year-end target. Now on course to achieve 10% blending. The target for ethanol blending is 20% by the year 2025, with Rs 1000cr liters of ethanol required to meet the government's requirement. From FY19, OMCs have increased their quantity supply from 189cr. liters to more than 420cr. Liters. On the procurement status, OMC has given between 36-41% of their total contracted quantities. Sugar companies are expected to increase capacity by 2-4x in the next 3-5 years.
