This particular machine has some gremlins running around its electrical system that sometimes prevent it from starting (discussed here:    • Farm Stuff ZD28 Starting problems 9 1...  ). As long as the charging circuit breaker is working and the added relay is intact, it really seems to work...pretty much all the time. That one wire (or really any of them) being disconnected is kind of a deal breaker though. I am very satisfied with that disconnected wire solving the mystery of why it wouldn't start/crank. I don't know why it stopped in the first place. I really hope it was some kind of operator error (running out of fuel, not complying with the safety system, etc.). There was a lot of grass in the radiator, so it could have overheated. It is supposed to sound a horn (like a car horn) when it overheats. I tested it once by grounding out the temp sensor, and it's pretty loud. No one reported hearing a horn though. A clogged fuel filter is a definite possibility. Our seems to be pretty dirty, despite dispensing through a filter at the tank. Similarly, there have been times when the fuel pickup tube has gotten gunked up. But, the machine ran fine brining it back in from the field...though that wasn't putting a full load on it. I guess we'll see if it happens again.
