The duo had allegedly been collecting donations under false pretences, claiming they were raising funds for the reincarnation of His Eminence Tsona Gontse Rinpoche. The monk, identified as Lobsang Nima, 48, son of Dorjee from Nadipar village in Dirang, and his accomplice, Santosh Thapa, son of the late Bal Bahadur Thapa, residing at Nehru Market Tawang, were reportedly distributing 'Rungma' (sacred threads) to donors as part of their scheme.
