Singapore Chinatown Walking Tour - 新加坡牛车水 | Chinese New Year 2023 - 4K 60fps (UHD)

On this walk, we visit Chinatown 牛车水 and start the tour from the Chinatown MRT station Exit E. Chinatown is known for its Chinese heritage and culture, its colourful street markets and traditional shops. The area is also home to several temples, including the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Thian Hock Keng Temple and the Sri Mariamman Temple. Chinese New Year festivities return to the streets of Singapore after two years of virtual celebrations due to Covid-19. This year’s Chinese New Year Festival in Chinatown is themed “Leaping into the Prosperous Year of Rabbit”. The Chinese New Year lights and lanterns, including the popular Rabbit Lanterns, have been displayed throughout the neighbourhood. There is a wide range of traditional Chinese New Year products and souvenirs such as mandarin oranges, pomelos, and red packets around the Chinatown stores Beautiful rabbit-shaped lanterns and street lights line New Bridge Road, Eu Tong Sen Street, South Bridge Road and, for the first time, Upper Cross Street. A multi-generational rabbit family comes together for the Chinese New Year in this towering 10m centrepiece located at the junction of Upper Cross Street and New Bridge Road. The festive fair also known as the annual Chinese New Year bazaar has around 280 stalls selling festive goodies on Smith Street, Pagoda Street, Trengganu Street and Temple Street.
