Explanations for these cause I'm a nerd. (Disclaimer: not all of these will be an exact perfect representation of anything. I'm not a doctor and these are not real people.) 0:00 - bad sensory, overstimulation 0:07 - stimming 0:17 - infodumping 0:28 - lots of neurodivergent folks don't recognize when someone likes them because it's difficult to pick up subtle social cues 0:34 - vocal stimming 1:08 - Max has a terrible memory but can remember ridiculously difficult information if it interests him 1:16 - good sensory, stimming 1:26 - stimming together 1:40 - bad sensory, possible overstimulation 2:02 - (This one's kind of a stretch so take it with a grain of salt.) It's common with neurodivergency to be upset and frustrated for not being able to meet "basic" expectations. 2:43 - unconventional grief response, "inappropriate" facial expressions 3:10 - Some autistic children find it easier to make up their own words. I couldn't find info on whether or not this is also true for adults but I thought it was interesting anyway. 3:17 - stimming together, unconventional ways of showing affection 3:43 - unconventional ways of showing affection 3:56 - stimming (doesn't look like much but Sam fiddles with his clothes quite a lot) 4:01 - difficulty keeping up with hygiene (usually cause of sensory issues) 4:21 - (there's a lot to unpack here) routines, possible safe food, getting deeply upset when both those things are taken away, self soothing. This is basically a meltdown but doesn't play that way because 90's cartoon comedy. 5:38 - immediate echolalia 5:59 - delayed echolalia, scripting (This is when someone "saves" exact phrases and uses them later to make social situations easier. Max has likely had this said to him before and forgot to switch the names.) 6:08 - sensory issues, sensory sensitivity 6:17 - wearing the same thing no matter what (usually cause of sensory issues) 6:39 - good sensory, stimming 6:48 - shoes may be a sensory issue, feeling like he needs his hat because its part of routine. 7:12 - unusual speech patterns, possible infodumping 7:26 - visual stimming 7:50 - sound sensitivity 8:29 - not picking up social cues, referencing good sensory 8:46 - (mostly a stretch, I just like this clip) possible vocal stimming 9:01 - stimming 9:12 - "to the point" style of social interaction 9:29 - literal thinking 9:38 - (warning for twitching in this clip btw, idk what happened) literal thinking ...
