This video describes the messaging that children receive when they are raised by undiagnosed and untreated parents who struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder. Using the book "Surviving a Borderline Parent: How to Heal Your Childhood Wounds..." by Kimberlee Roth, this is the first of two videos addressing messaging and impact when parents remain untreated and undiagnosed. This video also describes the wide spectrum of BPD - from the clinical population to those who are currently aware of their BPD diagnoses and working to heal and change their lives and relationships. As a reminder - there are many successful treatment programs and options today for those who have BPD and can access support. I know that treatment is not easy to access and expensive at times as well, but there are treatment options. My videos are aimed primarily at helping adult children raised by parents who suffered with BPD (untreated and undiagnosed) and to help illuminate their stories and traumas in order to direct and explain treatment focus and mental health issues. It is also important to note, however, that although BPD develops from a range of environmental and biological issues - it's very likely that some of those individuals who struggle with BPD were also raised by parents with BPD.
