This week, I'm scaling up the red stoneware pots I've been making. I'll be throwing and trimming a 2.5 kg vase made from a 50/50 mix of PS 690, (the coarse red stoneware), and ES80, (the smoother high-iron clay), together with a sprinkling of bronze filings to add a bit more life, albeit subtle. I cover all the steps that go into throwing larger amounts of clay like this, together with the process of refining the vessel once it has turned leather hard.
