How-To- Fix - B1811 SRS code - Clockspring & Airbag Removal - Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix & Corolla

If you end up with a SRS light for a B1811 code (driver's airbag deployment loop resistance too high circuit 2), replacing the clockspring may be the solution. This is just a quick how-to on the clockspring and driver's airbag removal. Most cars are similar, but these clocksprings are identical for the 2003-2008 Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix and Toyota Corolla. 1) disconnect the battery (let it discharge any lingering systems for a few minutes) 2) follow the video for the removal of the driver's airbag, steering wheel, and clockspring 3) with the new clockspring in place, pull the plastic tab out (it holds the coiled wires in place inside of the clockspring) -- new clocksprings from the dealership listed at $350.28 at the time this video was made; you can use an aftermarket one of your liking which does the same job 4) reverse all of the steps for assembly 5) connect the battery and the SRS light should be gone
