It suddenly stopped the application of offline PF withdrawal claims. All PF claims will have to be made online now. It also has different rules for date of birth correction. If the date of birth correction is for less than one year then it accepts your Aadhaar card as proof. But if the correction is for over a year then it asks for either your birth certificate or board exam mark sheet or passport as a proof. In such circumstances, the EPFO will not accept your driving license, Aadhaar or PAN card as proof. But what if one has given their correct date of birth yet there was a mistake from the EPFO? Due to the wrong date of birth, the EPFO rejects PF claims of employees. This makes it difficult for the lower-income strata of the society who in most cases do not have such valid documents. And in the time of need when they urgently require their PF money, they are unable to get it.
