#Florida Governor Ron #DeSantis said the state avoided a “worst-case scenario" from #Hurricane #Milton even as it contends with major storm damage and widespread power outages. As much as 18 inches of rain fell in Hillsborough County and Pinellas County in the #Tampa Bay area, DeSantis told reporters Thursday. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, with more than 42 rescues reported so far. In one instance, 21 people were rescued from an apartment building. More than 3 million electricity accounts are without power, DeSantis said.
