With six teams featuring only one loss in Big West Conference play thus far, including the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team, the Rainbow Wahine are set to host a pair of pivotal home matches this week. At 9-5 overall and 3-1 in Big West Conference play, the Rainbow Wahine are vying for separation in the standings with contests against UC Davis and UC Riverside on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Despite a 6-1 start to the season, the Rainbow Wahine endured some turbulence to begin Big West play, which included a conference-opening loss to UC Irvine in which the ‘Bows finished without star player Caylen Alexander, who was dealing with the cumulative effect of multiple injuries.
