As a matter of fact the definition of boxing in itself makes it seem that way. ‘’Boxing is the sport or practice of fighting with the fists, especially with padded gloves in a roped square ring according to prescribed rules.’’ However, any good boxer would tell you that footwork is just as important as your punches in boxing. This means you have to put in the work on improving your footwork just as much as you focus on improving your punches. My name is Tony Jeffries, Olympic medalist and retired professional boxer. I am now co-owner of Box 'N Burn, two boxing fitness gyms in Los Angeles, as well as the Box 'N Burn Academy where we train professional boxing trainers. The best thing about the drill is that you don’t need much to do it. There is absolutely no equipment required; all you need is a piece of chalk. This means that there is really no excuse for not doing this drill. Although it might seem simple, it can actually be very powerful in getting fast feet as well as perfect technique.
