Home composting has never been so attractive with the current compost situation where peat-free methods may force price rises onto the general gardener. So in reply to the YouTuber shout out from Green Side Up a fellow YouTuber gardener, I'm talking about my composting set up in my city garden, because as an urban gardener, there may be a few other things to consider before you jump in and start making your own compost. Things like, do you have neighbours that might be affected by smelly compost piles? Will composting attract rats and mice and can you prevent it? Or how will it look, will it spoil the look of my garden? Grab a cuppa and I'll chat through my composting thoughts in my city garden. I use a hotbin composter and have for a number of years now, I find them fast, relatively easy to use, and best of all, they fit into a city garden with no fuss, no smells, no mice or rats.
