The simplified naturalization procedure is the process of acquiring Hungarian citizenship on the basis of a Hungarian ancestor or a marriage to a Hungarian citizen, if, among other things, the applicant possesses at least an intermediate level of Hungarian. Andrew is preparing for the Hungarian naturalization interview and he reached out to me to help him prepare. He is applying for Hungarian citizenship on the basis of Hungarian ancestry. He grew up speaking two languages: English and Hungarian. He has learned most of his Hungarian language skills form his grandmother, and he thinks that the time has come for him to apply for Hungarian citizenship and put his Hungarian to the test.
