Batu Caves (Tamil: பத்து மலை, romanized: Pathu malai) is a series of limestone caves in Gombak, Selangor, #Malaysia. It is located about 13 km (8.1 mi) north of the capital city of #kualalumpur . The cave complex contains many Hindu #temples, the most popular of which is a #shrine dedicated to #hindu god #Murugan. It is the main place for the Tamil festival of #thaipusam in Malaysia. The complex also hosts a 43 m (141 ft) high Lord Murugan statue, one of the largest Murugan statues in the world. To get to Batu Caves, you can take the train, a GRAB , a metered taxi, or a bus. You could also take a city bus, but usually traffic is bad so the KTM #train is a better option. The purple/blue line takes to directly to Batu Caves which is the last stop. There is no admission fee to visit the main #temple complex. However, if you're planning to explore other caves, such as the #ramayana Cave and the Dark Cave, the ticketing fee is priced at RM5 and RM35, respectively. The Batu Caves are open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. The best time to visit the Batu Caves is during the morning or evening, when it is cooler. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as there are a lot of steps to climb. #tourist should also dress respectfully, as the Batu Caves are a holy site.
