Maury compares the NEW Martin SC-13E Special to the original SC-13E Koa. In other words, the Martin SC-13e Ziricote vs SC-13e Standard. Both the SC-13E and SC-13E Special (and fwiw, the SC-13E Special burst) share the same body size, same solid Sitka spruce top & same revolutionary heelless neck joint. The original SC-13E has Koa veneer back & sides and the new SC-13E Special has Ziricote veneer. The SC-13E Special has skeleton ratio tuners and a silver script headstock logo. The SC-13E has butterbean tuners and regular script overlay on the headplate. For electronics, the SC-13E features the Fishman MXT undersaddle system, with volume and tone wheels hidden in the soundhole AND a soundhole tuner that mutes your output. The SC-13E Special is powered by the LR Baggs Element system. It also has volume and tone wheels in the soundhole but they're entirely visible. There's no tuner on the Baggs system.
