Ruger SR-22 (10/22) Auto Bolt Release Mod

This is a really simple mod that almost everyone recommends doing to the Ruger 10/22 and any of its variants like my SR-22 rifle. Simply remove the trigger assembly as you would when cleaning the rifle and follow the few extra steps to remove the bolt lock from the trigger assembly. Compare the image below to see how the extra metal notch was filed out of the larger hole of the stamped metal part. http://i38.tinypic.com/sysg7a.jpg Once the bolt lock part has been modified put the trigger assembly back together and back into the receiver and lock the bolt back as you normally would. Now simply give the charging handle a tug and the bolt should automatically unlock and slam forward! No more fiddling with that rocker switch while pulling back the charging handle to unlock the bolt. If the bolt doesn't unlock you may need to file out more metal making sure you have a nice contour that is rounded outwards just like the picture shows. Also be sure the lower arm of the torsion spring in the trigger assembly is "locked" into the bolt lock pushing it down and the upper arm us under the top pin as I show in the video at 10:07 because this can be easily missed (or at least it was by me!) and will cause the lock to stay locked and you'll really have to fiddle with the lock/release rocker switch to get it unlocked! Overall it's actually a pretty simple mod that makes the operation of unlocking the bolt much easier.
