North Korea is a very isolated country in East Asia. Once there was a united Korean Kingdom which was invaded by Imperial Japan and stayed under Japanese occupation for almost 40 years. After that Korean War took place and two countries were formed along the 38th parallel. Despite having a wealth of natural resources and strategic advantages, North Korea has failed. It is a military economy. This Asian nation is often the center of intense scrutiny for its aggressive displays of militarism, internationally condemned nuclear program, and of course its oppressive government dictatorship.
