I went to Northern Tool to buy a brand new Ingersoll Rand Electric Stationary Air Compressor — 5 HP, 230 Volt, 1-Phase, 60-Gallon Vertical, Model# SS5L5. Since this was basically a 60 gallon version of the same 80 gallon setup we had been using for about twenty years - I was sold on it. Now that we have a new compressor - I needed to plumb it into our old system and then expand it so we went and found a couple of RapidAir 1/2in. 100ft. Master Kits, Model# 90500 from Northern Tool. These kits will act as a starting point to plumb the entire barn for air, permanently. For many years, I have had hoses stretched across the floor, and I would trip over them or they got in the way of things on casters or wheels. I grew to hate it! So it is time to do something about that and put in some permanent air plumbing! I will be plumbing this new compressor in tandem with the old compressor tank, so we should have lots of reserve air for doing heavy use things like sandblasting and spray painting. Because when you are sandblasting or using a paint gun to paint a car or tractor, the last thing you want to do is sit and wait for the compressor to catch up with you!
