Dean Forest Railway - 'Diesel Gala' 17/09/2022
Alongside a home-fleet pair of diesels, two visiting locomotives would grace the Dean Forest Railway for their 'Diesel Gala'. Joining Class 14 - D9521 and Class 08 - D3937, Class 37 - 37901 would pay the Forest of Dean a visit courtesy of Rail Operations Group, with Class 31 - 31130 joining from the Avon Valley Railway. The railway fronted a two train timetable for the event, with the 08 and 14 swapping duties on one set, while the 37 and 31 worked the other. The 37 could only be used in tandem with the 31, due to a lack of vacuum brakes on the former. The Saturday of the event would feature a triple-headed run, with the 37, 31 and 14, working out of Parkend. Locomotives: BR Class 14 - D9521 Rail Operations Group Class 37 - 37901 "Mirlees Pioneer" BR Class 31 - 31130 BR Class 08 - D3937 "Gladys" All footage filmed on Saturday the 17th of September 2022.
