How to Bake Sourdough on the BBQ Grill

Whatever the situation, we've got you covered. In this video, Heather demonstrates how to bake a sourdough boule on the barbecue grill. You'll learn what temperature to aim for, what tools you'll need, and how to make sure your BBQ stays a steady temperature. **How to Bake Sourdough on the BBQ Grill** 1. Mix, shape and proof dough as normal (see recipe links below). 2. Preheat BBQ with baking vessel inside on high heat, until temperature reaches 500°F (260°C), roughly 20-30 minutes. Use oven thermometer placed on BBQ grill for maximum accuracy. 3. Score dough and place into baking vessel. Replace lid, close BBQ, and reduce heat to low. Bake for 25-30 minutes, closely monitoring the temperature inside your BBQ. Anywhere from 400-450°F (205-232°C) is ideal. 4. Remove lid and place it underneath the bottom pan, creating an air-bubble insulator to prevent the bottom of the bread from getting scorched. Bake with lid off for 15-25 minutes, depending how dark you like your crust. 5. Voila, your bread is done!
