Lutopan, Toledo City. Philippines. This was my home for the first 12 years of my life, before me and mum migrated to Australia in 1988. As a young teen, the only thing on my mind was to come home to Lutopan as much as I could. So when it was school holidays or weekends I would join my mum and her friends to harvest fruits and vegetables in farms nearby. Once I had enough money to buy my airfare I would run to the telephone booth down the road from my house and book a flight for Christmas. I used to come home a lot in my late teens but that kinda stopped once I had my first child Thomas. The last time I was in Lutopan was about 15 years ago, I was a little disappointed. I felt saddened to find out that everyone was gone and started life somewhere else, similar to how I also felt when I left Philippines. Anyway, fast forward to September 2022.
