Game: Bells of the Abyss (working title) The AI Graph is a custom-system that combines functionalities of both HSMs and BTs into a single graph-editor. The biggest (gameplay) innovation I've added to the graphs are "MemorySequences" which basically remember their prior state and will attempt to take a different branch. This is simply design eliminate looping behavior and add variation. I've also optimized the graph to be entirely stateless by adding an AIBlackboard to the GraphVisitor. (The graph visitor can be thought of the cyan blue rings highlighting which state the AI is). The advantage to making the graph stateless is that they can now only be instanced once (and reused across all AI), so this design scales significantly better for having a large number of AI present.
