It's easy to leave the masses behind and find total solitude just by leaving the paved road. While boondocking on BLM land at Beas Lewis Flat just outside of both the town of Torrey and the border of the National Park, we explore Capitol Reef including the Fruita Historic District, the Fruita Campground, the park's Scenic Drive along the Waterpocket Fold, a hike to Hickman Natural Bridge, and a drive along the entire 60 unpaved miles of the Cathedral Valley Loop to see the Bentonite Hills, South Desert, Gypsum Sinkhole, Glass Mountain and of course, the spectacular Cathedral Valley itself.
