Trackmania - new car day I got new pc and with it i got Adobe substance for 3months. So finaly i want to make my own skin. Unfortunately substance is totaly $%^& and for sure not worth its price. Painting options there are terrible. Much easier is making skin in gimp. The only good thing on substance is that u have live view of a car but this program is only to copy paste illegal downloaded textures from internet. For sure substance painter isnt for painting. But when i finaly started making my skin i cant stop so i made it fully in gimp. It wasnt easy becouse there are no tutorials how to do this. I need to figure out most things by myself or from general gimp tutorials. There are only for substance or photoshop becouse most of tutorial makers got it for free from school/work or cracked. Noone cares about most of community that using free software. I dont have much time but im planing to make one but it even can be 1 year from now. Becouse when you understand it once then its easy. I got all details from details file sorted so now i can change every detail in car (now i just need to make descriptions more simple and add screens from game with color parts to easier find where is part you looking). Body isnt complicated but in gimp its hard to connect texture from body to side. Thats why my skin its simple but mine. I figure out how to make illum so its easy now to make always on or breaking or only on night even gears and speed working fine. Roughness i understand little less but i was able to do some parts metalic and some not so this i need to figure out fully. And i still dont know how to make normals or ambient oclusion especialy on wheels but in free time i will find way to learn this. But i cant wait more becouse i want to drive with my skin not this terrible poland skin from ubisoft. I also got idea of a skin and plan for making poland unofficial skin and i will share it with you but you need to be patient. Also i need to thanks for MCYC becouse even it wasnt gimp tutorial but some things i learn from him also some textures teplates was from him.
