Anyway, not sure where to fit this into my own story about my character Singlos and Miquella, who's also Torrent, maybe after Messmer cures Malenia of her scarlet rot, they discuss their deal to help Messmer become the Elden Lord and overthrow the tyrant Radagon. The thing about destined death being sealed and guarded by Maliketh, Marika's shade beast, comes up, and that Maliketh only has one half of it, the half that kills the soul and leaves the body alive, which was what happened to Godwyn when Radagon made Godwyn's black knife assassins turn against him and kill his soul for aiding Malenia and Miquella when they were cast out into the wilderness by Radagonl for being born cursed. The other half, the one that also killed the body, was somewhere else, and Messmer had heard that the recluse witch Ranni, the daughter of Radagon and Rennala, knew where it was. Neither Malenia nor Miquella were told much about Ranni, only that she was their half-sister, and lived somewhere around the Carian royal family castle. If they were going to eliminate Radagon forever, they needed complete destined death. Of course, Ranni's aid would come with a catch. As for Marika, rumour had it that she fled into the Umbral Plateau shortly after Radagon had ordered the death of Godwyn's soul.
