Out of all the cleanups I've been to, this is probably the hugest and most disgusting I've documented. What wasn't captured in the video was the whole alley was literally a heap of trash. This illegal dumping was reported earlier in the week but obviously this has been sitting in the alley for weeks maybe even months. Clean Streets/ CARE+ have been working all throughout this pandemic, for anyone that lives in LA and wonders why they can't clean up an entire encampment/illegal dump these days is solely because of the pandemic, officials believe that it will be less of a hazard if they clean around homeless encampment, but to me it seems like it's even more of a hazard if crews don't. It was for sure an interesting cleanup to watch and film not only because of the size but if you look closely from time to time in the video you'll see a rat the size of a shoe run out of the pile.
