On any road, Navigator is a most luxurious place of refuge. Three rows of seating arrangements are more than enough to prove it. Reservations for seven. Wide open spaces: All around. Today, we take a look at a first for Lincoln; a three-row body-on-frame true SUV based on the then-also-new Ford Expedition. With the SUV craze in full swing in the 1990's, automakers were cranking them out faster than cars, and with similar creature comforts and ride qualities. Cadillac had their Escalade, and Lincoln, in 1997 for the 1998 model year, answered with their upscale Navigator. To this date, the Navigator is still one of Lincoln's most popular and best selling vehicle, now in its fourth generation of production. This Navigator, a 2001 model year, produced in September of 2000, is nearing the end of the first generation, however, remained mostly unchanged throughout its production run, with minor updates occurring each year. The original air suspension has since been replaced with coils, and as such, a Check Suspension light is on, and has some paint issues, however, overall, is still in great shape for being 19 years old!
