ELRS - ExpressLRS quick tutorial - Tinyhawk, II, Freestyle, Race - Happymodel EP2 RX, ES24TX, EMAX

This is a super quick ExpressLRS tutorial - tx module: Happymodul ES24TX, rx: Happymodel EP2 RX - both on stock software (no bind phrase = "normal" bind procedure works). update your radio to the latest stable OpenTX version copy the ELRS.lua file to the radios SD card to Scripts/Tools - ELRS.lua: https://github.com/ExpressLRS/Express... don't update the tx, rx firmware yet activate Happymodel EP rx bind mode: power the rx two times for about a second (disconnect when the light goes off) connect the battery - bind mode = two short flashes OpenTX: copy or create a new model profile; internal rf: off, external rf: crsf enter global settings, select and start the ELRS lua script press enter to ignore the warning select bind - solid light = bound Betaflight: Ports: enable Serial RX on UART1 Configuration: Serial-based receiver: CRSF OSD: Link quality, RSSI value, RSSI dBm value Pros, cons ExpressLRS: inexpensive and lightweight receivers and tx modules - rx about $12-30, tx $25-45 (Happymodel, Betafpv, ..) low latency (alternative: Tracer tx + 3 x rx = $130) 2.4 GHz long range (alternative: Flysky FRM302 tx + FTr16S rx ($22) = $100, IRC Ghost tx + 3 x rx ($30)= $150) ExpressLRS needs a complete UART, which makes it unusable for most F4 flight controllers for long range, if you still want to control your VTX together with a GPS module. TBS and Flysky offer additional one wire protocols (SBUS -, non inverted SBUS mode or IBUS), which have the same range as Crossfire or AFHDS3, and they work fine with an additional GPS module and VTX control on a F4 flight controller. updates (WiFi, passthrough - compared to Crossfire, Tracer, Ghost & FRM302*1 over the air updates) the Configurator downloads additional software in order to compile firmware (better run this in a virtual machine). Compiling the firmware wouldn't be necessary without the password "feature", which is useless in my opinion, and if you could control all necessary parameters with the ELRS lua script. *1 available on specific Flysky radios Playlist 2.4 GHz long range protocols: IRC Ghost, Flysky FRM302, TBS Tracer & ExpressLRS:    • Playlist 2.4 GHz long range protocols...   Music: Daniel Licht https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_... #EMAX_Tinyhawk #ExpressLRS #ELRS (reupload)
